Why My Computer Speakers Are Buzzing. Recently there was a report on this forum of buzzing from speakers. What causes popping and crackling in speakers is a bad connection.
Disconnect the speakers from the PC then power them on and see if you get the buzzing. Previously the buzzing was very faint and could only be heard if you put your ear right next to the speaker but now it can be heard from the listening position. If you do its the speakers that are the problem.
Popping and crackling are different than humming and buzzing.
One of the common reasons is the electrical ground loop. If its in the speaker unscrew the back and inspect the components for damagedecay. The buzzing is not related to the volume control and the buzzing is the same regardless of where the volume nob is. A ground loop typically occurs when one or more pieces of your entertainment system are plugged into the AC alternating current at different locations then connected together by electrical.
